ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE

The Executive Member, Industries & Commerce Department, BTC is the head of the Department in BTC and the Minister of Industries & Commerce is the Head of the Department of the State of Assam, who provide policies & direction to the Department. The Additional Director of Industries & Commerce Department is the Council Head of the Deptt (CHD) who is implementing all developmental schemes, programmes including Budget, Planning & Administration of four districts under BTC. There is an office of General Manager, District Industries & Commerce Centre(DICC) in each district of BTADs(namely Kokrajhar,Chirang,Baksa,Udalguri). At sub-Division level, there are six offices of Assistant Director,Industries & Commerce(ADI&C) at Gossaigaon, Parbatjhora, , Bijni,Tamulpur, Salbari and Bhergaon.

A.Who We are:

The Bodoland Territorial Council is formed as a result of tripartite accord being signed on 10th February, 2003 in between Govt. of India, Govt. of Assam and Bodo Liberation Tiger (BLT) for creation of separate Autonomous district. The newly created four districts are Kokrajhar, Chirang, Baksa and Udalguri. The Industries & Commerce is one of the subject out of Thirty nine (39) subject being transferred to Bodoland Territorial Council as per Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) vide TAD/BTC/222/03/51 dated Dispur the 16th Oct.2004. Accordingly, there are four districts level office known as District Industries & Commerce Centre, in each of the four districts in addition to a Zonal office known as Office of the Additional Director of Industries & Commerce, BTC cum Council’s Head of the Department (CHD). Department of Industries & Commerce to implement various Schemes, Policies & Incentives etc. are provided by the Govt. of India, Govt. of Assam & BTC authority.

B. What We Do

Industries & Commerce Deptt. is the nodal Department for formulation and implementation of policies and programmes for development of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) in BTADs. The department is vested with the responsibilities of implementing the schemes & programmes of Industries & Commerce Deptt., Assam, Govt. of India & BTC through its District and Sub-Divisional level offices. The department is implementing schemes like  Assam Industrial and Investment Policy of Assam’2019, North East Industrial Development Scheme (NEIDS)’ 2017,, Bodoland Industrial Policy’2019 as well as Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) and Swami Vivekananda Assam Youth Empowerment Yojana(SVAYEM) etc declared from time to time.
